In 2004, after graduating from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Psychology, I started studying photography. It was one of the best and hardest decisions I've ever made. I have always loved creating art and this venture is another form of expression for myself.
I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan and spend time all throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. I am a knitter, writer, costumer, a cat owner, a bellydancer, and I collect vintage cameras. My favorite vintage camera is my Yashica FX-2 and it still works! I am also a LGBTQ+ ally and I believe that Trans Rights are Human Rights.
I am a storyteller. I love sharing stories. The weirder, the better. I love building bizarre concepts that tell stories. Those stories could be emotional, political, silly, or sweet. Art is a powerful medium for whatever it is that you want to say.
Photoshoots with me are fun. You can expect a welcoming atmosphere, free of judgment, and a photographer that likes to crack stupid jokes. Here's one of my favorites:
How many elephants can you fit in a mini-cooper?
-Two in the front and two in the back.
How many giraffes can you fit in a mini-cooper?
-None; it's full of elephants.
I’d love to meet you and hear your ideas for your photo shoot! Please call or email me for more information. I’d love to chat with you about your ideas and get to know you. We can chat over Skype or Zoom, talk over the phone, text over WhatsApp, or chat in person at a coffee shop. If you’re a fellow photographer, I’d love to chat with you about photography and get to know you too.
